About

I am a person-centred counsellor/psychotherapist, fully trained and qualified through clinical practice, with a Foundation Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of Derby, and a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

I am based in the Lancaster, Lancashire, area and work primarily across the North West.

Whilst I am professionally qualified and experienced, my main approach is one of empathy, rather than delivering a formulaic, theoretical, one-size-fits-all counselling experience.

I came to psychotherapy as a profession because I found myself, at a certain stage of my life, wanting to discover the root causes of what I myself was feeling and I discovered a positive life-changing experience, through therapy, that led me to want to become a counsellor. Talking to people and wanting to help them has always been a theme for me throughout my chosen job roles. I am also committed to ‘giving back’ to my local community and spend a number of regular volunteer hours working with two local counselling centres.

I am a trained listener who helps you to find the source of your problem, not by being directive but by meeting you right where you are in your thoughts, feelings, emotions and experiences and acting as a mirror for what you bring to explore into our safe space.

Our sessions are flexible to meet your needs and are guided by the pace you feel you need to work to.

The relationship that I have with my clients is being that person who is down-to-earth and approachable and with whom they can find a connection. They can talk to me openly, feeling safe to invest in the counselling process and to feel respected in a completely non-judgmental environment.

My clients understand that I am completely invested in them and that they are my number one priority. One of the benefits that I often hear from my clients is that  they choose to work with me because I am “authentic and real”.

If this sounds like the safe, transparent, respectful and confidential space that would suit your counselling needs, please take a look at our Services page to find out more about how we can work together.

Why not take a look at our Testimonials where some of my clients have kindly shared some of the benefits they have found from our sessions together.
